Firemane and PBS Group Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement

Firemane & PBS Group Announce Strategic Go-to-Market Partnership Across the Caribbean, Central and South America

Agreement covers 20 markets and expands Firemane’s FMPOS payment platform across PBS Group’s regional footprint

Firemane, a global point of sale terminal hardware distributor and payment technology company and developer of FMPOS, its proprietary Android payment application and software platform, today announced a strategic go-to-market partnership agreement with PBS Group, the largest full-service technology company across the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

The partnership covers 20 markets across Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curaçao, the Cayman Islands, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

A Relationship Built on Trust

This is not a new relationship as PBS Group has been a long-standing partner of Firemane, and this agreement represents a significant deepening of that partnership, evolving from a traditional customer and supplier relationship into a strategic go-to-market collaboration focused on shared growth and expanding opportunities across the Caribbean, Central and South American fintech infrastructure market.

What the Partnership Delivers

The agreement brings together the complementary strengths of both organisations to accelerate the growth of POS terminal hardware distribution and payment technology across one of the world’s most dynamic and underserved payment markets.

PBS Group brings unrivalled regional scale, deep customer relationships and a proven track record of delivering integrated technology solutions across 24 markets and more than 3,000 professionals. Through the partnership, Firemane will gain access to PBS’s established regional infrastructure, local expertise and extensive customer relationships across Central America, the Caribbean and South America, providing greater reach and flexibility when expanding payment technology solutions across the region.

A central element of the partnership is the expansion of Firemane’s proprietary FMPOS software platform across PBS Group’s regional footprint. FMPOS is already well established across Central America, with the payment application certified with several leading banks and actively in use across thousands of merchants. Together with our partners, FMPOS supports merchant acquiring solutions and large-scale POS deployments across the region. Its multi-manufacturer architecture gives banks, acquirers and merchants the flexibility to deploy the latest Android POS hardware across multiple leading manufacturers, while accessing modern payment functionality, new features and integrated Terminal Management Systems.

This provides greater choice and flexibility while driving significant efficiencies in the deployment, management and ongoing support of large terminal estates across the region.

Through this partnership, Firemane and PBS Group will build on FMPOS’s established footprint in Central America, expanding the platform alongside Firemane’s and PBS’s combined POS hardware distribution capabilities across more PBS customers and markets. The partnership is designed to accelerate payment modernisation across Central America while extending this proven model into the Caribbean and South American markets covered by the agreement.

Leadership Perspectives

Paddy Neill, CEO of Firemane, commented:

“We’ve worked with PBS for more than a decade, so this is a natural next step in our relationship. PBS has significant scale across the region, strong local teams, and longstanding relationships with many of the financial institutions across the region. By combining that reach with Firemane’s payment technology, software, and global hardware capabilities, we have a real opportunity to accelerate the deployment of modern payment solutions across the Caribbean, Central and South America.”
